Sage Fixed Assets Version 2018.1 (In)Compatibility

You may have been notified recently by Sage Software that version 2018.1 of its Fixed Assets module is now available. However, you should be aware that – because of an update to Crystal Reports that was included in the new Fixed Assets version – most versions of Sage 100 (i.e. versions 2017 and lower) are NOT compatible with Sage Fixed Assets 2018.1.

We're now upgrading Sage 100 to 2018

Since the release of Sage 100 version 2018 last October, Bennett/Porter has allowed time for Sage to release the first Product Update – as well as time to familiarize ourselves with the new version – before upgrading clients to 2018. IRS Updates Withholding Calculator and Form W-4 for 2018

In mid-January we released a blog asking if the new tax tables mean more money for people's paychecks. In that post, we reported that The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was passed by the federal government in December, resulted in changes including increased standard deductions, removal of personal exemptions, increased child tax credit, and revisions to tax rates and income brackets effective for 2018. We also let you know that the IRS was working on updating the income tax withholding calculator and the Form W-4.
