Mollie's Story

Posted by Sue on July 8, 2016 at 10:10 AM

My husband (Rick) was in Alaska when one of the litters of the grandfather that was our very first Labrador Retriever became available in August of 2002. My husband had chosen our previous four Labs – usually by throwing a feather out to see which pup in the litter would go after it, so if I was going to choose a puppy, I at least knew to do that. My friends Alan and Gail (who owned the sire of the litter) called and said that I had the number two pick, right behind them. I fell in love with one particular pup the minute I saw her. I threw the feather into the grass, and she along with another pup ran after it. (Score!) Then the owners of the litter told us that they had brought the pups to Portland from Idaho, and on one of their stops there was a stream. The mother of the litter crossed the stream and one of her babies followed her – swam right across the stream after her mom. And that was the puppy I had picked. I was so afraid Alan was going to choose her as his #1 pick, but as fate would have it, he picked his Katie. That little female I was crazy about would indeed be mine! On the way home, Gail asked me what her name was, and I said, “Her name is Mollie.” There was no question – she was Mollie. And because all of our dogs have been named after rivers, I added, “Molalla River Mollie. That’s her name.”

Where's the "Service" Part of Customer Service?

Posted by Sue on June 17, 2016 at 3:14 PM

My Mom, who will be 88 years old in a few months, has always wanted to go to Nova Scotia. I decided this was the year that we could cross that off of her bucket list. My husband and I belong to one of those travel groups that you’re just supposed to be able to call and they’ll make arrangements for you. Their website shows various sights in Nova Scotia, so I filled out the form with the time-frame for our trip, which is October so we can see the autumnal colors, along with where we wanted to go in Nova Scotia. I also asked what things we should see that we didn’t know about.

Clearing Up Confusion Over Sage 100c

Posted by Sue on May 31, 2016 at 11:02 AM

I did a session at our Connections Conference in May called ‘The Road Ahead for Sage 100’, and apparently I did a really bad job of trying to explain that Sage 100c is what Sage wants “The Road Ahead” to be for Sage 100.

Sage Software introduced Sage 100c at the end of 2015, and Sage 100c has only two things that Sage 100 currently does not have: The ability to change font resolution on your Sage 100 screens and the ability to use “Themes” – which is basically the ability to change screen colors– by user. It does have a modern look and feel – but if you know how to use Sage 100, you’ll know how to use
