Here we are, on the verge of 2016's close. The end of the year can be a hectic time for those with accounting-related duties. There are books to square up, new guidelines to learn about, and tax season to prepare for. We've assembled some information that will hopefully make those tasks easier...or at least more approachable.
There are quite a few Payroll changes coming in 2017 – and you need to know about two major ones right away. The first is a fairly major change to the due date for employers to file:
- W-2’s and their accompanying W-3 forms, and
- 1099’s and their accompanying 1096 forms
There are now four different payroll offerings through Sage Software, for Sage 100, and we'd like to let our clients and others know what those options are.
Sage recently announced a major change to pricing and annual renewals for the Sage 100 Payroll module, which will go into effect with the Sage Business Care plans that expire on or after May 1st of this year. As of May 1st, the next time your annual Business Care plan renews, the Payroll module will not be included as part of that plan. Instead, it will be broken out into a separate subscription plan. The cost of your subscription will be based on the number of employees you have across all companies.
